IGNOBLE Game Modes IGNOBLITE Guide

Major Update #1 did not reskin the tutorial. It split IGNOBLE into modes: each mode is its own game with its own rules and separate progression. You can still play the original campaign exactly as Retromagine intended at launch. You can also pick IGNOBLITE if you want the harvest loop with less punishment. This page tells you how to choose, what must not leak between saves, and which rumors are still vaporware.

If you have not finished How to Play, do that first. Modes change the pressure around the same verbs: kill, harvest, spend, repeat.

IGNOBLE (original)

This is the campaign you already own if you launched on August 12. Keep this save when you want:

  • The intended enemy pressure and projectile bite.
  • Prestige and late-game timeline pacing as tuned in Patch Notes.
  • Achievement hunting that still tracks on this profile (see Achievements).

Do not “test a glass deck” here if you are still learning orbit movement. That experiment belongs in IGNOBLITE or in a short sandbox run you are willing to throw away.

IGNOBLITE (easier, separate)

Official copy: a lighter version for players who want to relax, with easier enemies, less punishing projectiles and damage, and faster progression. Progress does not transfer. Treat IGNOBLITE as a second laboratory:

  • Learn Controls and pack stacking from Combat Combos without the original difficulty tax.
  • Prototype a deck from Ability Cards before you commit Blood on the main save.
  • Practice blister windows from Blood Blisters when you want the mechanic without the same HP wall.

What IGNOBLITE is not: a skip button for tyrants you still have not prepared on the main file. If your goal is the intended campaign, use Lite to rehearse, then spend for real on IGNOBLE.

How to pick tonight

Ask one question: do I want the original exam, or a kinder classroom?

  • New to beat-em-ups or recovering from launch-night input bugs: start Lite, then migrate habits—not currencies.
  • Demo veteran who already liked the bite: stay on IGNOBLE and use Farming Timer Tips instead of turning the difficulty down.
  • Teaching a friend: send them Lite plus How to Play, not your prestige screenshot.

Steam Deck players should still confirm binds on Steam Deck either way. Mode choice does not replace a good stick deadzone.

Upcoming modes (not live yet)

Retromagine said more modes are coming, in this order of mention: Infinite, then Turbo, then special content including Mineroble. Until those names appear in Steam news as shipped features, this wiki will not pretend they have rules, currencies, or leaderboards. Bookmark Updates Hub and this page. When they land, we will add a section with the same standard: official text first, then player impact.

Do not uninstall your original save because a trailer GIF showed another mode. Separate progression means you can wait.

What still stays the same

Across modes you still harvest Blood, Bones, and Marrow, still grow a tree, still fill a deck, still race a timer. Resources and Skill Tree remain the literacy layer. Cards still follow the post-launch display fix: read the live percent, not an old 0.02% screenshot. Tyrants still punish a farm deck that never swapped a safety card—How to Beat Tyrants does not vanish because Lite exists.

Mid-article video

The embed is the official gameplay trailer. Use it to remember the fantasy—packs, harvest, tree—then come back and pick a mode with a calm head. Trailers do not show IGNOBLITE’s reduced bite; they show why the original loop exists.

Common mistakes

  • Grinding Lite and wondering why the main-file tree did not move.
  • Mixing “I died, so the mode is broken” with an outdated client; update via Patch Notes.
  • Starting Infinite in your head and skipping the two modes that actually exist.
  • Using Lite as an excuse to equip six untested cards; Best Builds still wants a short deck.

Suggested session plan

  1. Confirm the build number on Steam.
  2. Pick one mode for the evening.
  3. Write a single goal: clear speed, economy, or a named fight.
  4. Close the other mode’s menus so you do not spend the wrong currency.
  5. After the session, note one change for Build Planner.

Modes are a gift if you treat them as parallel stories. They become a mess if you treat them as linked bank accounts. Play the intended IGNOBLE when you want the exam. Play IGNOBLITE when you want the language lesson. Wait for Infinite, Turbo, and Mineroble until Retromagine actually ships them.

FAQ
